Integration of units by ICT infrastructure

Collaborate with units spread throughout the national territory

Integração de unidades por infraestrutura de TIC

We support the integration and the collaboration between Embrapa´s units in Brazil, many of them in the countryside and in rural areas. To this end, we carried out an integrated plan, which included high-speed internet access for the decentralized units, as well as use of cloud computing, qualification of professionals, R&D actions and the implementation of communication and collaboration services, such as Multipresence, which enables conferences by means of multiple devices and at very high 4K resolution.

“Embrapa, for being a large company and geographically spread in all regions of Brazil, is aware that maintaining a quality and performance videoconference infrastructure is very expensive. When we received the invitation to participate in the project, we were very excited, because first, it was a way to strengthen the partnership with RNP and second, a way for us to avoid dependence on the videoconference market. The partnership generated savings for Embrapa by means of a solution of low cost and often, of higher quality”.

Rommel Teodoro de Oliveira
Embrapa IT Supervisor

“Embrapa Headquarters received the first implementation of Multipresence in an auditorium. There were several challenges for the team, who normally worked with dedicated equipment for conventional videoconference rooms. In addition to the diversity of equipment units, the connections used to enable sharing of resources, such as microphones, speakers and cameras between Multi-Presence and local presentations in auditorium, or traditional videoconference calls, were a challenge for all involved teams. Despite of the difficulties, it was a learning opportunity for the Multipresence project that will be very well used in the next installations”.

Guilherme Longoni
Multipresence Technical Manager

“Embrapa's participation in this development cycle enables experimentation and implementation of improvements before the transition from service to production. Thus, when multi-presence becomes available in the portfolio, we can offer more benefits to RNP user institutions. ”
