Request for Information - colocation services and managed hosting
RNP, through this open consultation, called RFI (Request for Information), aims to obtain market information of interest to potential partners who own or operate datacenters, willing to sign technical cooperation agreements, aiming at sharing them and, in return, making use of local and long-distance optical infrastructure, shared by RNP, for the mutual benefit of RNP and the partner.
Qualification of startups and suppliers
With the aim of promoting open innovation, RNP wants to find good partners
within the universe of technology. For this, it opened, in an unprecedented way, a process of
qualification for startups and suppliers who are interested in working together
in the development of ICT solutions for the research, science and education community.
RNP is the executor of the pilot project of the Norte Conectado Program, Infovia 00, which will connect five cities: Macapá, Almeirim, Monte Alegre, Alenquer and Santarém. It also assists in the execution of Infovia 01, which will connect Santarém to Manaus. The Norte Conectado Program is an initiative led by the Ministry of Communications that aims to expand the communications infrastructure in the Amazon Region.
Internet Brasil Program
RNP signed a partnership with MCom (Ministry of Communications) to support the structuring and operation of the Internet Brazil Program, which aims to promote free access to mobile broadband internet for students enrolled in basic education in the public school system from families enrolled in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) of the Federal Government. Internet Connection to Schools
RNP is supporting the Ministry of Communications (MCom) in the selection and contracting of providers for the provision of telecommunications services - including the installation, activation, operation and maintenance - of Internet access connections for schools in the public network that do not have adequate connection for the integral management of its actions in education.
RNP launched a call for selection of a startup that has experience in product development for network monitoring, with the intention of, in partnership with RNP, developing the current version of ViaIpê.
Connection to Family Health Units
RNP supports the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Health in the Family Health Units Project, which aims to connect 16,000 family health units in the country with broadband, which are not yet connected to the internet.
Supplier accreditation call for eduroam support
To support the increase in eduroam coverage in the national territory, RNP is launching a call for the accreditation of private sector providers, so that they can offer specialized support and consulting services. The objective is to establish partnerships to expand the capillarity of local and specialized support available to RNP user institutions that are eduroam customers that need these services.
Brazil-Guvana Feasibility Study
In support of the public policies of the Federal Government developed within the scope of the Conecta Brasil Program, MCTIC Norte Conectado, RNP carried out two calls for the technical feasibility study and the regulatory and business study for the implementation of an optical route for the interconnection of Boa Vista, capital of the state of Roraima, with Georgetown, capital of Guyana.
Internet for students in a situation of economic vulnerability
RNP is supporting the Ministry of Education (MEC) in contracting personal mobile service operators, which aims to provide internet to low-income students enrolled in federal universities and institutions of the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education.
