Desafio CT-Mon 2020
Este desafio visa o atendimento de uma demanda específica da RNP, por meio de seu Comitê Técnico de Monitoramento de Redes (CT-Mon). A chamada convida grupos de pesquisa com experiência em Redes de Computadores e áreas afins, incluindo o desenvolvimento de sistemas baseados em Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC), a apresentar propostas para conceber, desenvolver, executar e implementar uma nova plataforma avançada para coleta e compartilhamento de dados de medições de rede.
Edital de P&D 2020
A RNP lançou no dia 17/3 o edital de Pesquisa & Desenvolvimento de 2020, que selecionará projetos inovadores na área de Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) para serem desenvolvidos. Pesquisadores de instituições públicas e privadas e integrantes de startups poderão submeter suas propostas até 16/4. Elas serão analisadas e avaliadas até 1º/6.
New Research & Development Program
In 2018, RNP launched the notice of its new Research and Development Program. The differential compared to previous years is the inclusion of the innovation ecosystem, whether supporting the creation of new startups or supporting existing startups.
RNP and Microsoft Challenge in Artificial Intelligence
RNP launched, in partnership with Microsoft, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) R&D Challenge, with the purpose to explore technologies, in addition to generating knowledge about the subjects proposed by RNP technical committees.
4th BR-EU Coordinated Call on Information and Communication Technologies
RNP and the Department of Informatics Policy (Sepin) of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) selected six projects related to the Internet of the Things (pilot projects), Cloud Computing and 5G Networks.
RNP-NSF Joint Call for Cyber Security Research and Development Projects
RNP, in partnership with the US National Science Foundation (NSF), selected five two-year cybersecurity research, development and technology innovation projects.
Call for Open Access to Research Data - AADP
RNP and the Brazilian Institute of Science and Technology Information (Ibict) launched a call to promote open access to research data (AADP). A proposal from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), called the Brazilian Research Data Network (GT-RDP Brazil) was selected.
Video collaboration call
The call from the Video-Technological Prospecting Committee (CT-Video) aimed to fund R&D projects that explored the use of applications based on video and remote collaboration.
In 2014, two Thematic R&D Programs for e-Health and Remote Education (DE) were launched to enhance remote collaboration in these two areas of knowledge. The program received funding from the Ministries of Health and Education, the Department of Labor Management and Health Education (SGTES) and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes).
Identity Management Program - PGId
The purpose of the program is to promote the study of subjects related to the identity management area, such as authentication and authorization protocols and public key infrastructure. The program lasts six months and the selected works are followed up by the Identity Management Technical Committee.
RNP launched a call that selected four institutions to participate in the test pilot of the Science DMZ model or "Scientific Demilitarized Zone." The model consists in creation of a network environment optimized for high performance data transfer for scientific applications.
Network Monitoring Program - PMON
The program launches calls for proposals for researchers to submit projects about network monitoring. The participants must be associated with educational and research organizations situated in Brazil.
Cooperative projects in advanced networks
The " Information and Communication Technology, Products and Services Applied in Advanced Networks" notice was launched by CNPq/ProTeM in October 2001 in association with RNP. From the 39 presented proposals, eight projects for new products and applications, as well as qualification in Human Resources, were selected.
High Speed Metropolitan Networks (Remav)
Through a partnership between RNP and the Multi-Institutional Thematic Program in Computer Science (Protem-CC), the "High Speed Metropolitan Network Projects" notice was launched in October 1997 with the financial support of CNPq and the Internet Management Committee in Brazil. As a result of the notice, 14 consortia were selected.
The GIGA Project was coordinated by the Research and Development Center (CPqD) in partnership with RNP, and its mission was to promote the technological innovation of internet-oriented telecommunications networks and services by means of the Experimental High Speed Network, called Rede GIGA
