The second edition of 2023 of SiSU (Unified Selection System) was held between 6/19 and 6/22 and, once again, relied on RNP's entire cloud operation, based on the partnership with the Ministry of Education (MEC). As in previous editions, the portal was available for 100% of the period and recorded 522,921 registrations for the 51,277 vacancies available in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country.

The operation was carried out at MEC facilities, marking the return to the body since the first edition of 2020, which took place before the pandemic. This strategic change aims to strengthen the ministry's capacity to operate the SiSU, with the important support of RNP in the transfer of knowledge.

As in previous editions, the portal was available for 100% of the period and recorded 469,882 registrations for the 51,277 vacancies available in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country.

Considered a critical operation with high added value for MEC, SiSU plays an essential and vital role in Brazilian education. Marcello de Jesus, deputy director of Specialized Digital Services at RNP, highlights the relevance of this system, comparing it to a war operation due to its complexity and impact.

Roosevelt Benvindo, RNP's Solutions manager responsible for cooperation with the MEC, points out that “the SiSU operation is in a new stage, with a knowledge transfer process in progress. RNP plays a key role in training MEC's technical teams to operate the system autonomously in the future”.

Alberto Yasuda, manager of the organization's Digital Projects, highlights the importance of preparing for the operation, in order to avoid interruptions in accessing the portal.

 “This preparation is carried out by the technical teams and aims to reduce the risk of incidents and ensure a completely available and scalable environment during the registration period”, he explains.
 
After closing the registrations for the edition, RNP's technical team carried out the final ranking of candidates, returning the data to MEC's Oracle database. These measures aim to improve SiSU and ensure an efficient and transparent selection process for students. The return of the operation to the Ministry of Education, with the valuable collaboration of RNP, demonstrates the commitment to strengthening education in the country through this important selection system.
