On October 19, SIG Telecoloproctologia (SIG Telecoloproctology), from Rede Universitária de Telemedicina (University Telemedicine Network) (Rute) reached the expressive mark of 100 sessions made through videoconference. Representatives of Hospital Universitário da Universidade Federal do Maranhão - HU-UFMA (University Hospital of the Federal University of Maranhão), Hospital Universitário Walter Cantídio (Walter Cantídio University Hospital), Universidade Federal do Ceará - HUWC-UFC (Federal University of Ceará), Hospital Universitário Professor Alberto Antunes (University Hospital Professor Alberto Antunes), Universidade Federal de Alagoas  - HUPAA-Ufal ((Federal University of Alagoas), Universidade de Brasília  - UnB (University of Brasilia), Hospital Barão de Lucena HBL (Baron de Lucena Hospital), in Recife, Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná – Unioeste (State University of the West of Paraná), in Cascavél, Hospital Geral Roberto Santos (Roberto Santos General Hospital), in Salvador, Hospital Federal de Bonsucesso (Bonsucesso Federal Hospital), in Rio de Janeiro, and the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Caracas. Rute's National Coordinator, Luiz Ary Messina, also attended the meeting by means of videoconference.

Coordinated by Hospital Universitário da Universidade Federal do Maranhão - HU-UFMA((University Hospital of the Federal University of Maranhão), the interest group has been in operation since 2009, aiming at improving, updating and improving coloproctology professionals.

“We held discussions about cases of patients attended in the respective services, with live exchanges, opinions and experiences, immediately bringing specialty information to many participants, allowing a more informed opinion about the conduct that was and will be carried out on our patient. In addition, the participants are all excellent medical professionals, who always brings us the certainty of some learning. Everything revolves around the dedication, commitment and professionalism of all who participate, contributing to the success in these nine years, with 100 presentations”, says the SIG Coordinator, João Batista Barreto.

The group sessions always happen on the third Friday of the month and promote the dissemination of articles and the discussion of cases related to the field.
