Panel on partnership opportunities in R&D and education: the importance of opening the dialogue between innovation and the scientific community

Creating new opportunities for dialogue and partnerships between the technology market and startups and the scientific community. With this purpose, RNP participated in the Blockchain Rio Festival, held from September 1st to 4th, with a booth and participation in the panel on partnership opportunities in R&D and Education, with RNP's Deputy Director of e-Science and Advanced Cyberinfrastructure, Leandro Ciuffo, the Operations coordinator, Renato Duarte, and the Innovation analyst, Felipe Nascimento. 

Self-titled “the biggest blockchain event in Latin America”, the festival took place at Pier Mauá, in Rio de Janeiro, and showcased a mix of pioneering technology, entrepreneurs and academics who are at the forefront of knowledge, paving the way in the blockchain and digital assets in Brazil and worldwide. 

At RNP's booth, it was possible to get to know CT-Blockchain and participate in a draw for a course on blockchain at the Escola Superior de Redes (ESR).  

“The public that passed through our space during the event was very varied. It had everything from students and researchers to leaders of startups from different segments”, says Felipe Nascimento. “A startup in the legal sector drew our attention, which wanted information on how to apply blockchain in this business”.  

The organization's presence at the festival yielded contacts for possible future partnerships. “As an organization responsible for bringing the internet to the country, we need to be aligned with these transformations and position ourselves as an important player in discussions on blockchain and web 3.0”, says deputy director of e-Science and Advanced Cyberinfrastructure at RNP, Leandro Ciuffo. “Participating in this type of event is strategic to reaffirm our purpose of innovation”, he concludes.
