Research Solidarity: exchange, borrowing or donation of research supplies

- 06/07/2020

Solidarity. This is the value pointed out as the key to continue scientific production in Brazil. In practice, picture an innovative environment, in which researchers should be connected and could collaborate one with other, exchanging, borrowing, requesting or donating materials, equipment and supplies for their research. Everything for science progress. So, even if some resource is rare, knowledge production need not stop! It is exactly the motivation of the Reseach Solidarity platform, service made by Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp) in partnership with Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP) and Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES).

The platform was launched last year, and it is the result of work built since 2017 between the institutions. The news is that the website is now “ new face" and ready to receive members of the academic-scientific community of Brazilian higher education institutions - public or private - who want to collaborate. According to the latest mapping by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), there are about 200,000 researchers in Brazil, a number that grew 251% between 2002 and 2016.

How do the platform works?

Who is interested may access the solution through the address https://solidariedade.unicamp.br. The application page functions as an electronic wall, where members can post a request or offer for supplies and materials and also view other ads where they see an opportunity to collaborate.

Solidariedade à Pesquisa

Registers are organized per area of knowledge: biology, human, exact and technological sciences. Other categories can be created, all that is needed is for the research community itself to show interest in other areas. This guarantees interdisciplinarity among higher education institutions in Brazil.

How to participate in this community?

Students and teachers from higher education institutions, accredited in the Federated Academic Community (CAFe), may participate in Research Solidarity. Just access the website and enter the credentials already used in the institution to which they are linked.

Solidariedade à Pesquisa

Realized? It is simple! In a few steps, the platform manages to bring together knowledge producers, expand networks among researchers and strengthen the development of teaching and research in the country. Contribute, collaborate, participate!
