On 1/25, the general director of RNP, Nelson Simões, met with the president of the Piauí Research Support Foundation (FAPEPI), João Xavier, on behalf of the state governor, Rafael Fonteles, to reinforce the strategic partnership aimed at boosting innovation in education and health in Piauí. Also participating in the meeting were the rector of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), Gildásio Guedes, the deputy director of Institutional Relations at RNP, Gorgonio Araújo, the Institutional Relations manager at RNP, Cristiane Oliveira and the coordinator of the RNP Point of Presence in the state, Rizalva Santos.

The meeting was marked by in-depth discussions about innovative initiatives that RNP has already been promoting in the region, with emphasis on the global academic Wi-Fi service eduroam and the Piauí Saúde Digital program.

Eduroam: Connecting Academic Communities Globally

Nelson Simões emphasized the relevance of the eduroam service, a platform that revolutionizes connectivity for students, researchers and professors. Eduroam allows members of the academic community to connect to the internet securely and efficiently from any campus or affiliated institution around the world.

“It is not just a network, but a tool that promotes global collaboration. Through this initiative, we are providing students, researchers and professors in Piauí with access to information and collaboration on an international scale, boosting the region's academic potential”, highlighted Simões.

Piauí Saúde Digital: Transforming the Health System

João Xavier, president of FAPEPI, highlighted the significant positive impacts of the Piauí Saúde Digital program on the management of the state's health system. The initiative, which integrates innovative technologies into health management, aims to provide improvements in the provision of services, facilitating access to medical assistance and optimizing communication between health professionals.
