Success in Brazilian universities, the next session of Cinemas em Rede project is scheduled for October 20. In this edition, the participants, will be able to watch the feature length “Glauco do Brasil”, written and directed by Zeca Brito. The documentary is about the life and work of Glauco Rodrigues, one of the greatest plastic artists of the country.

In 1998, Zeca was only 12 years old and interviewed, with a simple camera, the painter Glauco Rodrigues, at Bagé,  in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The director did not have a clue of what would come next, but the documentary Glauco do Brasil was being born. “In 2013 we continued to shoot to investigate the path of life through his work. It was amazing to rediscover Brazil through painting of this fabulous Brazilian artist. The blend of styles, from different times and references shows the artist's genius”, states Zeca.

After the movie exhibition, at 08h40 p.m., there will be a chat with director at Cine Arte UFF, in Niterói, in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The debate will be transmitted for other rooms via webconference, by Mconf tool. The exhibition is the result of Cinemas em Rede project, a cooperation between Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP) and the Ministry of Culture (MinC) connecting the university cinemas and exhibitors to network infrastructure operated by RNP, thus facilitating the access and exchange of content for those rooms. The session of October integrates eight rooms, in the federal universities of São Carlos, in the State of São Paulo; of Pelotas, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul; of Paraíba; of Espírito Santo; of Bahia; in the federal university Fluminense, in the State of Rio de Janeiro; of Ouro Preto, in the State of Minas Gerais; and the Brazilian Cinematheque.
