Deputy director of RNP and professor at UFRGS receives award from IEEE

RNP's deputy director of Research, Development and Innovation management and professor at the Institute of Informatics (INF) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Lisandro Zambenedetti Granville, received the Salah Aidarous 2022 Prize from the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). The announcement was made during the IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS 2022), on 4/28, in Budapest, Hungary.

The Award, which bears the name of the coordinator of NOMS 2004, is given to researchers with unceasing service and dedication to the community of management and operation of computer networks. The award selects individuals for their exceptional contributions to the field.

Lisandro Granville attributes this recognition to his many years contributing to the community by organizing events, participating in research projects and exchanging graduate students. "The other Salah Aidarous laureates (whom I had the privilege to meet at NOMS 2002) are researchers that I admire and have always inspired me; it never crossed my mind to one day be awarded as well. That is why I was very honored with the award”, declared the scholar.
