The Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP), through its Amapá Point of Presence (PoP-AP), will promote between July 29 and August 2, the Network Technologies Workshop (WTR) in the state. The activities will be held from 9am to 6pm at the Department of Exact and Technological Sciences (DCET), at Universidade Federal do Amapá (Unifap).
The workshop is part of RNP's Training and Integration System and is free of charge for students, staff and faculty linked to educational and research institutions that use the institution's infrastructure.
In the evaluation of PoP-AP technical coordinator, Everton Vieira, the WTR will serve as a way to include the North Region and Amapá in the list of states that have implemented a quality academic network. “This will be the first time we will hold the workshop in our state and it will help us establish an improvement in the academic network of Amapá. It is very important for us that WTR will help us implement a better quality internet in our educational institutions,” he explains.
The meeting will gather technical teams from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field of the main public and private educational and research institutions in Amapá for an exchange of experiences, learning and dissemination of new technologies integrated to the academic environment.
The program also features debates on smart campuses, information security, future of the internet in Brazil and a lecture with RNP's Director of Engineering and Operations, Eduardo Grizendi, about the expansion of the Brazilian academic network, the Ipê network. The audience can also enroll in the IT Services Management Mini Course (GTI3), offered by Escola Superior de Redes (ESR).
Registration is now open and can be done through the WTR website.
