In October, the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa - RNP) promotes the Security Month, aiming to foster the culture of information security in Academic institutions in Brazil and Latin America. The celebration strives to create opportunities for institutions to discuss good practices in the use of technology in its local communities.
Security in the cloud, in social network, in Wi-Fi networks, in online gaming and mobile devices, cybercrime, passwords, phishing, privacy, frauds, cyberbullying, social engineering, encryption, good use of e-mail, secure purchases, backup and malicious software are some of the themes that may be addressed by participating institutions, through courses, lectures, internal campaigns and other dissemination actions.
The Security Month is conducted in partnership with the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA), comprised by 17 countries from Latin America and from the Caribbean, and the Organization of American States (OAS), formed by government institutions from 35 member states.
Teaching and research institutions may subscribe until September 30, through website meseg.rnp.br. The awareness actions carried out throughout October will be released by the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa - RNP), on the event website and on social networks.
