Dissemination Ginga project trains profesionals in South America

The project Dissemination Ginga, a partnership of RNP with the Ministry of Communications (MC), is conducting training for professional TV stations and federal universities in four countries of South America: Ecuador, Chile, Peru and Uruguay. The goal is to develop interactive applications for Digital TV in the Brazilian middleware standard Ginga NCL, composed of a set of infrastructure technologies for applications in NCL (Nested Context Language).

The first winners of the training were Ecuadorians and Chileans who, in August, received classes of professors from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), co-responsible for creating the Standard Ginga, which aims to stimulate the development of national standard interactivity for the Brazilian digital television. In total 54 students participated (28 in Chile and 26 in Ecuador).

This initiative aims to strengthen the actions of RNP with the public policies of digital TV, in particular the National Policy for Development Contents Creatives within the Ginga Brazil Program, which promotes the training of professionals in the development of interactive content and applications Digital TV in standard Ginga-NCL and deployment of testing these materials laboratories. It also develops an experimental network that interconnects the Ginga BR.Labs created laboratories in ten public broadcasters, with training of technicians, producers or directors of the entities selected in the use and development of applications and interactive content based on Ginga.
