Connection of 10 Gbps was activated at Traffic Exchange Point between Brazil and Miami

- 05/08/2015

Connection of 10 Gbps was activated with the Florida Internet Exchange Point (FL-IX) – a new traffic exchange point (TEP) in Miami (USA). The action, held on June 25, is a result of efforts by RNP towards the expansion of its participation in traffic exchange points that brings a better quality in connections with other networks and decreases the reliance of the academic network on internet service providers.

FL-IX is the second international TEP with RNP presence. The first was established in 2013, with a 10 Gbps capacity, at the NAP of the Americas (Nota) TEP, also in Miami. Visit www.fl-ix.net for more information.
