On 03/20, the OpenRAN@Brasil program held the presentation webinar of the public call for the contribution of the academic area. At the opportunity, those interested were able to learn more about the program, the architecture of the testbed, the thematic axes of interest, how to submit a proposal, the schedule with important dates and more.  

Check out the webinar highlights:  

• The public call aims to select Working Groups (GTs) to collaborate in the addition/evolution of testbed functionalities/technologies, with a duration of 01 year (12 months). 
• Eligibility criteria: academic coordinator, advisor professor linked to a public or private teaching/research institution and team of collaborators.  

• Topics of interest: they are divided into the following axes: Construction of the Testbed, Development in SDN and Orchestration of Resources and Services 
• Submission: deadline is 04/28/2023. Submission can be made at this link. The models are in the OpenRAN@Brasil page.

About the evaluation criteria:  

• • Experience of the group: this criterion will analyze the general experience of the proposer(s), especially in the topics of open RAN, 5G and SDN. 

• Thematic adherence: this criterion verifies whether the proposal is relevant to the topics of interest chosen for this selection. 
• Technical feasibility: this criterion assesses whether the submitted proposal is feasible in terms of technological implementation in the OpenRAN@Brasil testbed.
• Quality of the proposal: this criterion evaluates the quality of the proposal submitted in relation to its objectives, clarity, objectivity and expected results. 

About values:  

• Resource for personnel: BRL 132,000.00. The values for scholarship holders must be in accordance with the RNP Grant Program. 

• Resource for equipment/cloud: BRL 20,800.00. More details on Annex 4 of the public call.
