Nasnuvens, RNP's new cloud computing concept, was nominated for the Datacenter Dynamics (DCD) - Awards Latin America 2018 in the “Best Cloud Project” Category. The award is considered the “Oscar” of the Data Center Segment and will be held on 11/06 during the 10th edition of DCD Brasil, at the Centro de Eventos Promagno in São Paulo.

This is the seventh year that the event recognizes the best projects developed in Latin America. In this edition, more than 80 organizations presented their projects for the seven categories of the prize and the eighth category, whose winner will be chosen by the jury, composed by more than 25 specialists.

Held at the RNP 2018 Forum, in August in Brasilia, Nasnuvens aims to expand the offer of cloud services to education and research institutions through a consumption-based model. Its web interface allows meeting the needs of ICT managers, researchers, teachers and graduate students, to access the services provided in a single environment that is easy to access and safe.

“The indication is one of the results of the strategic partnership we are building with Globalweb in this project. From the conception of the model of the offer of the cloud services by RNP, until the delivery of the first operational platform, this project relies on the adherence and dedication of professionals from different areas of our organization. Without such integration, a project of this magnitude would not be possible”,  explains José Luiz Ribeiro, Director of Services and Solutions at RNP.

The nomination in the category “Best Cloud Project” is an acknowledgment of Nasnuvens’ great innovative potential and, in addition to supporting the work done so far, generates greater expectations regarding the next steps to be taken.

“Team engagement, partnership with suppliers and, more recently, the participation of the first customers, show that Nasnuvens results will bring significant changes in how RNP provides services and relates to its user community. The business model and its form of implementation define paradigm breaks both for the teams’ performance in the organization and for our interaction with the different user profiles of this service, positioning RNP strategically as an essential partner for the development of research, for the ICT support of the institutions and the support to the development agencies in the formulation and execution of public policies in education, culture, health, science and technology, with special emphasis on innovation”, as José Luiz forecasts.

Nasnuvens competes with the IT Park Modernization Project, which extended Dataprev (Brazil) cloud services, with the Migración al Cloud Spootinity, from Juan Valdez Café (Colombia), with SDR, from DRP in a Box (Mexico).
