The Ministries of Education (MEC) and of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) adhered the fone@RNP in September 2015. The MCTI accession is already a result of RNP action to support the advanced services in the ministry.

"These membership bring as immediate result the possibility of all user institutions of fone@RNP achieve free calls to both ministries, in addition to the savings that will be generated for them", said the Management Services Deputy Director Antônio Carlos f. Nunes.

In the same month, also stands out the National Education Development Fund (FNDE) accession.

The service connects state agencies and other education and research institutions through the Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology, allowing that the calls made by voice (via common telephone, IP telephone or softphone) are forwarded through the internet.
