The National Council of State Secretaries for Science, Technology and Innovation Affairs (Consecti) endorses concerns against the considerable shrinkage of resources for social organizations (OS) that have management contracts with the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC).

In a letter sent to Minister Gilberto Kassab, the President of the Council, Francilene Garcia, warns about the lack of resources to the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP), the Centre for Strategic Studies and Management (CGEE) and Embrapii, and the importance of role of these social organizations to the country.

According to the document, RNP contributes to the maintenance and expansion of academic networks and has recently connected all state departments of Science, Technology and Innovation (CT&I). She adds that the CGEE develops fundamental studies for organizing and monitoring the CT&I State Systems and, in which case, mentions examples of the Northern and Northeast Regional Plans and for the construction and organization of local systems. Whille Embrapii, the letter says, has been working with the productive sector by stimulating the Federative Units in mobilization for innovation.

"We express concern over the drastic reduction in resources for these entities, hindering the implementation of the CT&I National Policy", says Consecti´s president.
