The Board of Directors of RNP, in the regular meeting on 30/04/21, extended the term of the current director-general, Nelson Simões, for the 2021-2025 period, in compliance with the terms of the Articles of Incorporation.

The unanimous decision for the extension of the director-general term, discussed in April 2020 during a special meeting, took into account the future strategy of the social organization, analyses of the results achieved, in particular with regard to the Management Contract, and the role of leadership, competence, and organizational performance achieved by the current executive board.

The Board of Directors thanks the director-general for accepting the invitation and reaffirms the commitment and work of its members to strengthen the RNP System and benefit the Brazilian community of education, research, and innovation.
