Ipê network is the Brazilian academic network. Present throughout the country, it not only offers quality internet access, but also supports the transmission of large volumes of data for scientific projects and development of new technologies.

Points of Presence

The infrastructure of Rede Ipê encompasses 27 Points of Presence (PoPs), one in each state, in addition to branches to serve 1522 campuses and units of education, research and health institutions throughout the country, benefiting more than 3.5 million users.

Latin America and Europe

An agent of integration of academic initiatives in Brazil and Latin America, RNP has a prominent role in the Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA). Through RedCLARA, the Ipê network currently connects at 6 Gb/s with 15 Latin American countries and 5 Gb/s with the European Géant network.

RNP also has 240 Gb/s of international connectivity between Brazil and the United States within the AmLight consortium and in partnership with ANSP. These connections provide access to the US academic networks, especially Internet2, other international academic networks, and the worldwide commercial internet.
