WTESTBEDS 2023 opens submissions for articles that report the use of public experimentation infrastructures in scientific research

Until March 5, 2023, the call for submission of articles for the II Testbeds Workshop (WTESTBEDS), held within the scope of the Congress of the Brazilian Computing Society (CSBC 2023) is open. The works will be presented during the event, which will take place from July 23 to 28, 2023, in João Pessoa (PB).

Articles can be submitted by professors, researchers, students and startups that have scientific and experimental research results in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) which have used public experimentation infrastructures (Testbeds) to obtain results from real systems in the context of their scientific research. Articles that report the conception, development or construction (total or partial) of experimental infrastructures will also be accepted.

This workshop is of interest to works involving the use or development of Testbeds related to blockchain, smart cities/campus/offices, cloud computing, identity management, applications or middlewares related to the Internet of Things (IoT), e-Science, optical networks, artificial intelligence, machine learning, among others. “We believe that a comprehensive dissemination of the main results of scientific and experimental research on ICTs obtained with the use of Testbeds will be able to inspire other researchers, professors and students from different areas of computing research. Today we don't have a community that exchanges experiences across the board on the use of experimentation infrastructures. Someone who conducts research in AI may have interesting insights from the reports of experiments by researchers in the field of smart cities, for example. We hope that WTESTBEDS is the embryo of this community”, says one of the organizers of the Program Committee, RNP's R&D coordinator, Leandro Mondin.

“The workshop proposes to be a space that enables dialogue and articulation with the experimental research community in ICTs in Brazil and that are interested in participating and influencing developments and innovations in the theme, as well as being a space to present and inspire researchers in the use of Testbeds”, adds event organizer and RNP R&D manager, Gustavo Dias.

According to the organizers, WTESTBEDS will offer special conditions for the authors of selected articles to go to CSBC 2023, to present their work.

Submissions must be made via the JEMS system. The articles to be submitted must be in Portuguese, English or Spanish, and have between 4 and 12 pages. Check out the submission rules at the event website.
