RNP launches public call for 2023 WG Program

This Wednesday (20/7), RNP launched its public call for the 2023 Research, Development and Innovation Program for Working Groups, through which new products and services will be developed in co-creation with the academic community.

Researchers from public and private institutions will be able to send their proposals until 9/25. The results of this public call will be released on 10/25, with the announcement of the new Working Groups selected.

As in previous years, the announcement invites the scientific community and also startups interested in undertaking in partnership with RNP, for the creation of a Minimally Viable Product (MVP) as the main result of the RD&I project. 

This year, the main change is in the allocation of personnel. “Now it will be possible to allocate up to 40% to the startup and 60% to the research group”, informs the deputy director of Research and Research and Development Management, Lisandro Granville. ” In addition, more people will be able to be allocated to innovation functions. “It will be necessary to allocate at least one innovation leader, being able to indicate up to two innovation assistants”, he adds.

The MVP developed must necessarily be for the creation of a new product or service that can benefit the RNP System. Proposals to evolve existing products and services will not be the target of this call.

The projects will be developed throughout 2023 and will last for 12 months. Throughout the period, RNP will support the adoption of tools and techniques in business modeling.

The non-exhaustive list of topics of interest to RNP in the public call includes Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Identity Management, Distance Education, Telehealth, Collaborative work, Cybersecurity and a novelty this year: the metaverse.
