Connection to the Alcântara Launch Center

RNP will connect the Launch Center of Alcântara and São Luís (MA) to Fortaleza (CE), today the largest submarine cable hub in Brazil, with interconnections to the USA, Europe and Africa, through a submarine cable and a terrestrial optical network, driving scientific and technological development in the region. Created through a provisional measure in December 2021, the text of the Federal Government Program was sanctioned and became law 14.351/22 at the end of May 2022.
