Aiming to benefit the innovation ecosystem in the country, the National Education and Research Network (RNP), linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI), in partnership with the National Association of Entities Promoting Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec), announces the opening of the RNP System to technology parks throughout Brazil.

After nearly two years, the pilot project, carried out by the two entities and with the participation of six technology parks in five regions (Zenit, PTEC UFRJ, PqTec SJC, BIOTIC, PCT Guamá and CITTA), will be made available for the innovation environments interested in enjoying the benefits and solutions provided by the RNP System.

“We are very happy to announce that, from now on, Brazil's technology parks are qualified to join the RNP System. That is, startups, technology companies, accelerators, and incubators that are within technology parks may be part of this connection of science, technology and innovation, enjoying a set of very interesting and very important services for those who do innovation in Brazil ”, comments Guila Calheiros, Executive Director of Anprotec.

In addition to connecting with the Brazilian academic network, the Ipê network, for the exchange of national and international traffic, the package of services made available to these parks offers the use of simultaneous rooms in the Web Conference service; participation in the worldwide eduroam network, the secure Wi-Fi service of the teaching and research community, and the Filesender@RNP encrypted large file upload service.

“In addition to promoting the emergence of new technologies, these initiatives are also beneficial for the development of many cities, boosting the local economy, in addition to stimulating the creation of qualified jobs. For this reason, RNP is proud to be part of yet another step in the construction of a more innovative and technological country”, concludes Iara Machado, Director of Research, Development and Innovation at RNP.
