The National Education and Research Network (RNP), linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), announces the 22nd edition of WRNP, a workshop held annually that aims to bring the scientific community closer to the innovation ecosystem in the country. The event discusses the main technological advances in Research and Development in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), inside and outside of Brazil.

The event takes place on August 16 and 17, 100% online, and will bring to the public panels and lectures on Blockchain, Open Science, new-generation wireless networks (5G/6G), cloud and edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, cybersecurity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, among other topics.

Among the speakers confirmed for this edition are the keynote speakers Sandro Cortezia, from Ventiur Aceleradora, who will give a presentation on the Legal Framework for Startups, and Lindália Reis, CEO of the Hacking Rio event, in a panel on gender issues in IT. 

The program will also include representatives of the Secretariat of Entrepreneurship and Innovation by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI); and names from international academic networks, such as Fernando Liello, the academic network of Italy (GARR), Luis Eliécer Cadenas, Latin American Cooperation of Advanced Networks (RedCLARA), and Sarah Jones, the academic network of Europe (Géant). 

The event is aimed at teachers and undergraduate and graduate students, as well as industry professionals, government bodies, and companies operating in the innovation ecosystem in Brazil. "We see in WRNP a time for presenting to the scientific community research opportunities with RNP, which will benefit our entire community," says the deputy director of Research, Development, and Innovation of RNP, Lisandro Granville.

The RNP Workshop (WRNP) traditionally occurs simultaneously with the Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems  (SBRC), organized annually by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
