On 24/5, the selection process for the contracting of the underwater optical cable installation service for Inforpath 00, part of the North Connected Program, was completed. After analysis of the technical, commercial, and documentary proposals, RNP decided to contract Comércio e Navegação Prates Ltda, one of the four (4) companies that submitted proposals.

Navegação Prates was approved regarding the documentary and technical requirements and presented the best commercial proposal. With that, it will be responsible for the launch of an underwater cable of 770 km. The Infopath 00 of the Connected North Program will connect the cities of Macapá/AP - Almeirim/PA - Monte Alegre/PA - Alenquer/PA and Santarém/PA, through a underwater InfoPath along the Amazon River. Once in operation, the cable will allow the connection of the cities at a speed of 100 Gb/s.
