RNP promotes tenth edition of the Identity Management Workshop

On 10/16, RNP promoted the tenth edition of the Identity Management Workshop (WGID) within the program of the XX Brazilian Symposium on Information Security and Computer Systems (SBSeg) of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC). Due to the pandemic, the event was held virtually between October 13 and 16.

In the morning, the program included presentations by the CTO of AllowMe, digital identity validation and management platform, Thiago Diogo, who discussed the concept of Zero Trust Identity in the OpenID and OAuth2 perspective, bringing the implementation of the Open Source solution for Keycloak Identity Management, kept by Red Hat, Jean Martina, professor and researcher of UFSC , who dealt with the case of Assin@UFSC, a successful experience of using advanced digital certificate ICPEdu in the university environment, and Caio Souza, from LedgerTec and Guido Lemos, professor at UFPB, who led a panel  about Challenges and Opportunities in the Relevant Digital Document Management.

In the afternoon, the CEO and founder of In Loco Media André Ferra and the UFGRS IT manager presented lectures before the final panel with the topic Decentralized Digital Identity with participation of the Research and Development vice-president of CPqD Alberto Paradisi, Blockchain Strategist by MIT and University of Oxford, Tatiana Revoredo and the Innovation director of Certisign Certificadora Digital, Maria Teresa Aarão. The debate was moderated by Fabíola Greve, professor and researcher of UFBA.

About WGID. The event aims to be a forum for discussions and technical presentations of works about the state-of-art of technologies related to identity management. Furthermore, the idea is to identify research challenges and enable the meeting of researchers from the area as well.

Also on 10/16, RNP had representatives presenting an article called “How to offer Python web applications as a Shibboleth service provider using micro-services” at the Tools Room of the event. The authors of the work are Carolina Felicissimo (RNP) and Michelle Wangham (Univali/RNP), Felipe Cardoso (IFSC/RNP), Allex Andrade (IFSC/RNP) and Emerson Mello (IFSC).
