Digital transformation applied to the reality of teaching and research in Brazil has brought changes and a very fast rhythm. It not only can be seen as the best use of technology, but also as a process that has influenced habits, routines and induced people to rethink on their actions to build an increasingly better society. An example is the use of cloud services, mobile and artificial intelligences, which made technological processes organically more accessible to companies, institutions and society in general. 

Aware of this potential and that all the current professionals already use technologies like digital platforms in their routines, the Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP) will promote, between August 26 and 28, the newest edition of RNP Forum. The event will be carried out at Royal Tulip Brasília Alvorada hotel, in the Federal Capital. Its main guiding principle will be lectures and debates on the “Challenges of Digital Transformation in Teaching and Research.”
In its eight edition, the Forum usually calls the attention of professionals from Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), from Public Management, deans and pro-deans from Federal Universities and Institutes, as well as researchers and students from the field – and it will discuss issues, such as information security, IT governance, besides debates focused on academic networks and internet changes in Brazil. 

The first day of activities will be dedicated to meetings that will gather participants from communities inserted in the RNP System, such as SIG Nuvem, RNPSeg and Evolution and Challenges of Digital Health in Brazil, and Governance Forum of ICT from Institutos Federais de Educação Tecnológica (FORTI). In such opportunity, a National Meeting directed to technical and administrative coordinators will also be carried out of the RNP Presence Points (PoPs) in the states and to the presidents from Managing Committees from the 40 metropolitan networks that belong to Programa Redes Comunitárias para Ensino e Pesquisa (Redecomep), for the interchange of content and experiences.     

The last two days will be fully dedicated to the promotion of lectures, panels and exposure of Forum suppliers. The BarCamp Iniciativa PPGs, directed to Graduation Programs in Brazil, the meeting of ICT Managers Forum of MCTIC (FGTIC) and Microlearning Cloud Workload are also scheduling highlights.
