Towards sustainable smart cities: MCTI InteliGente platform is launched

- 03/12/2021

Last week, during the 4th Meeting of the Chamber of Cities 4.0, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Secretariat of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI) launched the MCTI InteliGente platform. The platform was developed by the National Education and Research Network (RNP), together with the Renato Archer Information Technology Center – responsible for building the Brazilian maturity model of smart and sustainable cities – and aims to carry out a maturity diagnosis. for Smart and Sustainable Cities and to propose guidelines and axes of action for the elaboration of the National Policy and the Municipal Policy for Sustainable Smart Cities.

The platform aims to contribute to federal, state and municipal public managers, helping them to identify the current conditions of cities, skills and needs to advance towards becoming sustainable smart cities, in the medium and long term. In addition, the diagnosis made will enable other stakeholders (private sector, industry, public and private institutions, academia and citizens) to better understand the reality of cities, to find ways to collaborate with digital transformation and sustainable local urban development.

You can access the platform at inteligente.mcti.gov.br

For 2022, the MCTI expects to improve this maturity model, after a first round of analysis of the cities, as well as implementing adjustments and improvements to the platform.
