The Networks School trained over 2.700 students in Brazil

The Networks School (in portuguese, Escola Superior de Redes - ESR) ended the year 2015 with 2.743 students trained in 156 classes held in its eight units throughout Brazil.

The service unit of RNP also gave lessons in classes in company in cities across the country and distributed classes in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), in Cuiabá (MT), in Florianópolis (SC), and in Maputo, capital of Mozambique, Africa.

In addition, it trained several private institutions and government organizations, especially the Ministry of Defence and the Courts of Justice, Labour and Electoral. The latter accounted for 312 capabilities.

Also were attended 208 students from projects with which the RNP partners, such as the Perodiocal Portal of Higher Education Personnel Training Coordination (in portuguese, Capes) and the Brazilian Company of Hospital Services (in portuguese, Ebserh), financed by the Ministry of Education and the National Cinema Agency (in portuguese, Ancine), by the Ministry of Culture.

International partnerships

In 2015, consolidating the partnership with the Academic Network of Colombia (Renata), the ESR lectured the course of IT Governance Essentials in The Colombia Networks School. The latin unit uses all the methodology and the course materials of governance area from ​​the brazilian unit. Last year, there were two trainning in Governance and Management of IT and Management of Information Security Services, a total of 34 students, in-person and remote, from Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico.

Within the partnership with the Academic Network of Mozambique (MoRENet), the ESR trained students from three classes, two in classroom mode, which were held in the St. Thomas University of Mozambique, with two instructors from MoRENet, trained from the units of ESR (Cuiabá, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia), and distributed classes transmitted by the unit of Porto Alegre for the Computer Centre of the University Eduardo Mondlane.

New courses

In 2015 courses grid, the news was on account of four courses taught for the first time: CobiT Fundamentals 5, about the technology and expertise to the implementation of IT governance across the CobiT methodology; Security policies information on regulations necessary for the planning, construction, implementation and maintenance of information security policy; Database Modeling with an overview of databases, as well as concepts and methodologies for conceptual modeling, logical and physical; and Database Administration, with the presentation of the body of knowledge for managing database management systems, focusing on PostgreSQL.

In the training held, courses that had the largest number of participants were the Information Security Management - NBR 27001 and NBR 27002, Planning and IT Service Contracts, IT Service Management, IPv6 Basic Architecture and Protocols TCP-IP Network and IT Project Management.

Prospects for 2016

It has been published the agenda for 2016. The first course of the year will be the Planning and Strategic IT Management, planned to begin their classes in mid-March. in Salvador. There are already provided classes in seven units of ESR, in Belém, Brasília, Cuiabá, João Pessoa, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. The calendar of Manaus will be announced soon. Throughout the year, new groups can be formed.

The highlights of the agenda are the courses of Systems Development area, which was launched recently, in addition to the new IT Governance.
