The Networks School (ESR), RNP’s unit for qualification and dissemination of knowledge in ICT, has become a member of the Federated Academic Community (CAFe), the identity management service of the Brazilian teaching and research institutions.

With that, the users from institutions that are part of the service may enroll, have access to certificates and navigate ESR’s Virtual Learning Environment by using, for instance, the same credential issued by their institutions.

Through CAFe, the users use a single account to access, from wherever they are, the services of their own institutions and the ones offered by the other organizations that are part of the federation, eliminating the need for multiple access passwords and registration processes.

In addition to the navigability, single-password management and data privacy advantages, the association between ESR and CAFe allows the users to have access to international networks with which the federation has agreements, such as GÉANT (Pan-European Research Network), Europe Latin America Collaborative e-Infrastructure for Research Activities (ELCIRA) and the Research and Education Federations (REFEDS).
