- 01/10/2021

RNP's Point of Presence in Mato Grosso (PoP-MT), in partnership with the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), announces another edition of the Network Technologies Workshop (WTR-MT). In 100% online format, the event takes place on October 5th and 6th and is aimed at managers and technical teams in the ICT area of the main public and private teaching and research institutions in the state of Mato Grosso.

For this year's edition, the event will feature a weighty grid. On the first day, participants will be able to follow the NIC - Security Tutorial course focused on Hardening, where they will explore the most recurrent security incidents and also understand how a network administrator can protect themselves through equipment hardening techniques, and a tutorial focused on Privacy by Design, a methodology created in the 90's that considers the protection of users' data from the conception and planning of the systems and products development project, and which has gained prominence due to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

On the 6th, the grid will feature several lectures on topics such as: Cyber scams in times of pandemic, Panorama Security in the state of Mato Grosso, How to innovate in the Public sector, Security and IoT, How to implement a Privacy Governance Program, Criminal minds in Information Technology, among others, as well as a panel on women in IT management, moderated by the vice-coordinator of UFMT, Eunice Pereira dos Santos Nunes.

"The Network Technology Workshop (WTR) promoted by RNP's Points of Presence is an important means of communication and sharing between RNP and the academic community. It is an event that brings together IT technicians and managers around technological problems and solutions in the university context. The 2021 WTR/MT focuses on information security, a theme that is very present nowadays due to the numerous cases of cyber attacks suffered by various government agencies. Thus, we hope the event will contribute to enrich the discussion and the knowledge of our technicians and managers about information security in the context of academia and that the event serve as a space for disseminating the services and opportunities of our academic and research network.", concludes Professor Allan Gonçalves, administrative coordinator of the PoP-MT.
