On February 14, an announcement was published and aims to explore technologies and generate knowledge on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The result of a partnership between RNP and Microsoft, the challenge is directed to the research community in communication and collaboration technologies (CCT), as well as Brazilian startups that work on the proposed themes.

The announcement process goes through the themes worked on the technical committees of RNP and will have the support of its technological tools, specialized support and documentation of these tools in the development of projects by Microsoft. Two projects in each thematic axis will be selected:

•             Network Monitoring

•             Identity Management

•             Video collaboration

“The RNP and Microsoft Challenge: Artificial Intelligence R&D is a great opportunity to develop applied research in conjunction with technical committees, mobilizing the academic community and Microsoft AI specialists. Together, we hope this knowledge about Artificial Intelligence will be disseminated to the teaching and research community and also that the R&D projects of this challenge can use the technologies to explore possible initial solutions to generate a positive impact for the community”, explains André Marins, Research and Development Manager at RNP.

Each project will have available up to three thousand Reais per month, over six months, to hire one or two students, as well as resources for demonstration at the WRNP 2019, to be held in Gramado on May 6 and 7.

Interested researchers should submit a proposal until March 1.
