Between May 6 and 7, the members of the research community will come together in the Event Center of Hotel Master Premium, in Gramado/RS, for the 20th edition of Workshop RNP (WRNP). The initiative is carried out by the National Network of Teaching and Research (RNP) and aims to present to the public the technological advancements for the evolution of the Brazilian academic network and the main topics for the innovation of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) inside and outside Brazil. The event will be held together with the 37th Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC).

The 2019 edition of WRNP brings the public closer, by panels and technical sections, to Brazilian and foreign experts who will indicate paths to stimulate new ideas and future infrastructure advances of the Brazilian academic network. The schedule highlights the services of registration, authentication and digital preservation of documents, principles of advanced Internet and cloud computing, and a debate panel on innovation and entrepreneurship.

There will also be technological expressions of different projects selected by RNP in the scope of Research and Development (R&D), as well as the dissemination of results in the new RNP's Working Groups notice. The news for this year is about the selection that was extended to include national startups, seeking to bring closer the innovation ecosystem and research groups.

The assistant director of R&D, Leandro Ciuffo, explains that the meeting will benefit the academic community with exchanges of experiences and new perspectives. “Our mission is to promote new ideas on network platforms and possible technological news for expanding knowledge for all’’, ensures Ciuffo.[RNP1]
