- 04/01/2016

The Center for Pedagogical Support for Distance Education (Napead) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) developed the video project Peripheral Venous Puncture with Catheter, which assists health professionals in this common procedure during hospitalization of patients and which requires high technical competence to the execution.

The content was built with the help of Cacuriá tool that enables the creation of learning objects aimed at distance education. The platform was developed by the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) under the Working Groups Program of the Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (RNP). It provides interactive multimedia content, stored and distributed by the videos repository of the RNP service.

The video project Peripheral Venous Puncture with Catheter was designed by the teacher of the School of Nursing of UFRGS, Ana Cogo, and her team, with the execution of the University's secretariat of Distance Education. It allows interaction by questions and the user’s reflection, possible because of the Cacuriá tool that does not require programming skills.

In public domain, the video Peripheral Venous Puncture with Catheter is available to anyone for free use. The video can be accessed on the website http://www.ufrgs.br/napead/repositorio/objetos/puncao/.
