Up to March 31, the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) – research unit of Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication (MCTIC) and the user institution of RNP – and the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Engineering Research at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Coppe/UFRJ) are accepting proposals for use of Santos Dumont (SDumont) and Lobo Carneiro (LoboC) supercomputers, part of the Brazilian System for High Performance Processing (Sinapad).

Coordinated by the LNCC with the support of RNP, Sinapad is a high performance-computing infrastructure available to Brazilian institutions, public or private, to support teaching, research and development activities. Every researcher linked to a Brazilian institution, with a relevant problem and requiring a large scale computational system, can submit proposals to use the computational resources of the system. Santos Dumont, installed in the LNCC, is the main node (Tier-0) of this infrastructure. LoboC acts as a secondary node (Tier-1).
