The National Education and Research Network (RNP), linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations (MCTI), announces the 10th edition of the RNP Forum, which addresses political and strategic issues in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, with a view to the future and to the infrastructure that makes up the National ST&I System. Based on this theme, it promotes a broad debate on the use and management of ICT for teaching, research, innovation, health, culture and defense purposes.

This year, the event takes place between November 22nd and 26th and has as its main theme “Human Development and Digital Health in Focus”, with tracks on Innovation, People and Technology. Among the news, the event this year joins the main congresses of digital health in Brazil: the X Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth (CBTms) and the XVIII Brazilian Congress of Informatics and Health (CBIS), together forming the largest digital health event of Latin America.

The RNP Forum already has three confirmed keynote speakers: Cathrin Stöver, Communication Director at GÉANT (Pan-European Research and Education Network) and Vice President of the Executive Board of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC); Conrado Schlochauer, founder and member of nōvi and author of the books “Lifelong learners – the power of continuous learning” and “Core skills: Neither soft nor hard. 10 essential skills for a changing world”; and Carlos Alberto Afonso, executive director of Instituto Nupef and pioneer in the development of the internet in Brazil.

Among the confirmed panels are: “From paper to pitch: it is possible to combine entrepreneurship and scientific research”; “Infovia 00 and the Neutral Operator – optimizing resources and democratizing access”, with NIC.br and the Ministry of Communications; “Digital Transformation at HEI” and “Connected Education”, with the Ministry of Education (MEC); and “What are the challenges of the new leadership facing ESG”, with the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC). The event will also feature a Meeting of Rectors, who will address the main theme of the Forum, as well as a lecture by FortiNet, a company specialized in network security, on Digital Innovation and Security in the Internet of Things (IoT).

RNP Garage Forum

In the mornings from 11/23 to 11/26, the event will promote the RNP Garagem Forum, an innovation marathon open to the public with the objective of working, in an agile and immersive manner, on identified challenges, through sustainability, innovation and technology. After the development of the MVP, with the support of experienced mentors, the teams will make their pitches to the panel and the best idea will be presented in the main Forum schedule, on the last day of the event.
