The Brazilian National Research and Educational Network (Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa - RNP) along with the RNP Point of Presence in Tocantins (PoP-TO) will host, between May 22 and 23, the state’s first Workshop on Network Technologies (WTR). The event will be held at the lecture hall in block IV of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), in the city of Palmas, with debates on the use of new integrated technologies in the educational environment. Two training courses will also be offered in a partnership with the Networks School (ESR), one on GPON technology and another on local network design and safety.

The event is aimed at managers and technical teams in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) area from the state’s public and private institutions of education and research. The schedule includes presentations on RNP's solutions and services available to users from these institutions, like eduroam and the Federated Academic Community (CAFe), and possible partnerships with the academic network in Tocantins.
